Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with department staff, sales representatives, dealers, and fleet/customer personnel using multiple media (in person, email, and phone).
  • Responsible for negotiating tire evaluations with fleets/customers and dealers.
  • Responsible for ordering tires and managing tire inventory.
  • Handle tire mounting/fitment at the fleets to ensure tires are placed in a timely manner in the correct fleet application/usage, and correct vehicles per the test plan.
  • Plan visits to fleets/customers on a schedule that will allow you to measure tires consistent with the prescribed mileage/time interval outlined in the test plan. Fleet visits are often made outside of normal work hours such as evenings, early mornings, and weekends.
  • Inspect tires multiple times during the test as required by test plan, and complete end of test inspections to determine reason for removal from service. Inspections and data capture are performed with digital tools, tablet, and various small hand tools.
  • Make technical assessments of tire damages, classify and photograph damages.
  • Provide periodic reports on tire performance to the tire designers.
  • Organize tire shipments during and at completion field testing.
  • Identify issues, assess root cause, develop action plans resolve issue.
  • Manage multiple evaluations/tire surveys at multiple fleets at the same time.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the fleets that you are responsible for: business model, operating segments, state of business, and other factors that could affect the success of Michelin’s tire evaluations.
  • Prospect for potential new fleet resources.
  • Provide training for key fleet personnel in survey methods for assisting in tire tracking and SI inventory management. Provide training to fleet personnel on mounting, balancing, and tire maintenance.
  • Administrative duties: Email, planning of fleet visits, making travel arrangements, expense reports, business vehicle maintenance, tire shipping, issuing credits and adjustments to fleets & dealers.
  • Organize field visits with the Tire Design Engineers.
  • Attend periodic meetings and training.
  • Travel up to 3 – 5 nights per month.
  • Position requires working outside in the elements: to include working in the cold, heat, snow, and rain.
