Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Firm understanding of finance and accounting practices and terminology.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud EPM preferred.
- Power BI or other similar tools a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop, support, and administer an array of financial and reporting systems.
- Assist in the creation of documentation to support the various financial systems.
- Develop in depth understanding of core financial systems and how they support the various financial processes.
- Assist in the monitoring of core financial systems and offer solutions to business areas when issues occur.
- Participate in process improvement activities utilizing existing and/or new technology.
- Assist in implementing new financial systems to meet growing business needs.
- Contribute to the testing and verification of product upgrades or new technology.
- Integrate the financial, forecasting and reporting systems with other corporate financial and operational information systems.
- Initiate and maintain relationships with clients to ensure processes and solutions are integrated to support business requirements.
- Gather requirements from clients for reports and enhancements and translate those requirements into functional designs used by technical resources to develop solutions.
- Recommend improvement of existing or proposed systems to enhance the functionality or effectiveness of solutions delivered.
- Provide internal consulting to users on how to make best use of functionality readily available in the current applications.
- Review and approve report design documents.
- Ensure proper documentation is in place to support ongoing internal reporting and querying systems.
- Maintain application configuration table values to support business rules and application functions. Keep associated documentation up to date.
- Control and monitor system security configuration settings, granting user access to (or removing user access from) applications according to appropriate authorization.
- Develop unit test plans. Test application patches and changes to configuration tables, programs, and processes.
- Perform regression testing and verification for product upgrades.
- Coordinate client’s testing and acceptance of application changes.
- Develop and/or assist in developing business process aligned application training material. Deliver training to clients one-on-one or in a classroom environment as required.
- Monitor system, data, application, process, and user errors and performance issues, and take corrective action as appropriate.
- Provide business support to clients needing assistance with applications and/or diagnosing data issues.
- Document problem analysis findings and corrective measures for ongoing support and audit purposes.
- Develop and run ad hoc query reports as needed to troubleshoot problems, fulfill audit requests, and support other client requests.
- Work closely with technical resources as needed to troubleshoot problems and determine solutions.
- Continuously look for implementing improvement strategies to enhance performance through better utilization of operational information.
- Be consistently aware of corporate goals and can identify technology to help meet those goals.
- Continually increase personal understanding of utility business functions and processes.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
Preferred Qualifications
