Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting
  • CPA certified or a candidate currently in process
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in the accounting or auditing field; Exposure to public audit clients is preferred
  • Experience working on SOX internal controls testing or exposure to control remediation plans
  • Exceptional ability in data management and written communications, with a strong aptitude for implementing checks and balances independently
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
  • Experience working with or knowledge of General Ledger systems (e.g., Oracle NetSuite, SAP) is preferred
  • General US GAAP accounting knowledge, with a familiarity of stock-based compensation accounting (ASC 718) is preferred
  • Self-motivated, flexible, strong verbal presentation skills, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing day-to-day responsibilities with long-term strategic goals

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the compilation of monthly and annual financial statements like US GAAP, IFRS, and local accounting standards for international subsidiaries, inclusive of month over month account variance analysis.
  • Assist in researching technical accounting guidance for new accounting pronouncements or issues that arise and draft technical accounting memorandums.
  • Prepare and review auditor requests and partner with external auditors to facilitate annual financial statement audits.
  • Identify gaps in current processes, implement SOX compliant internal controls, and drive continuous improvements in the Corporate Finance team’s workflows.
  • Support ad hoc initiatives such as equity record keeping and accounting analysis, M&A integrations, etc.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Legal, Payroll, and Corporate Development teams on initiatives like processing new equity awards, primary equity issuances, stock option exercises, and RSU settlements.
  • Partner with international team members and service providers to complete monthly international financial reporting and analysis.
  • Input, extract and analyze sets of data, use iCapital’s equity management software, Carta, to work with large datasets in Excel and present insights effectively.
  • Prepare monthly close journal entries and maintain supporting schedules.

Preferred Qualifications
