Requirements
- Bachelors in Finance, Economics, Business or Accounting.
- Two plus years of experience in the Financial industry (Banking preferred), with knowledge of financial markets, capital markets products valuation and financial analysis.
- Moderate knowledge of Capital Markets products as Interest Rates Swaps, Cross Currency Swaps, Interest Rate Options, Fixed Income Securities, FX and Structured Products.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL.
- Moderate knowledge of Latin-American’s Markets and its financial products valuation, as GM USA has major investments in the LatAm Fixed Income and FX markets.
- Knowledgeable of front office systems as Murex, Calypso or Spectrum (highly preferred), Bloomberg, Reuters.
- Must be able to multi-task and demonstrate analytical/problem-solving skills.
- Must be a quick learner, self-motivated and a team player.
- Ability to learn new financial software or comfortable in dealing with systems.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial reporting from a management perspective for the Global Markets (GM) USA business unit.
- Support CIB USA Management in the implementation of BBVA’s business model.
- MtM P&L report preparation across all products and trading strategies including rates, currencies, credit and derivatives.
- Investigate and resolve large and inconsistent P&L variances between front office system, accounting system and trader´s book by reconciling all discrepancies down to an immaterial amount to ensure accurate P&L.
- Responsible for providing trader/dealer support including: trade booking, product valuation and the management of risk positions.
- Daily interaction across multi-disciplinary teams including: Traders, Market Risk team and accounting department to investigate and resolve different discrepancies.
- Assist in controlling BBVA’s internal results recognition models, and for implementation of local and cross-border, cross-sell agreements (transfer pricing).
- Assist in controlling accounting asymmetries, banking regulations and support local project implementations.
- Assist in deliver strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and forecasts to the Head of Management Reporting.
- Analyze and understand all aspects of the financial markets and financial products valuation (positions, profitability, MtM).
