Requirements

  • 10+ years of financial reporting experience with public companies
  • Active CPA license required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with financial reporting and consolidation systems/tools (e.g., Costpoint, Oracle FCCS, Workiva, research software, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules, including non-GAAP reporting
  • Experience managing direct reports
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills, including writing accounting disclosures supporting public filings

Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, footnote disclosures, and MD&A for quarterly SEC filings (10-Q/Ks), including the XBRL tagging process.
  • Prepare monthly consolidated internal financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Review disclosures to ensure compliance with US GAAP/SEC regulations, including share-based compensation, earnings per share, segment reporting, revenue, leases, debt and equity transactions, non-GAAP reporting, amongst other topics.
  • Collaborate with various teams, including finance, tax, legal, investor relations, and external auditors, to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Execute and maintain internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial information communicated to senior management, board of directors, and investors.
  • Keep abreast of current developments in accounting standards and SEC regulations.
  • Manage, develop, and supervise a high-performing team while fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in strategic projects, as necessary.
  • Proactively work with auditors and advisors on key accounting and reporting issues.
  • Look for opportunities to evolve the reporting process.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mix of prior Big 4 experience and industry experience
  • Federal contracting industry accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with XBRL tagging and SEC filing software.
  • An advanced degree (MBA or Masters in Accounting)
