Requirements
- 2 years of experience in fire alarm systems and fire protection maintenance
- Fire Alarm Technician certification or equivalent, the ability to obtain certification within a set timeframe
- Proficient in fire alarm system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and special hazard equipment
- Familiarity with NFPA codes, local fire codes, and safety standards related to fire alarm, sprinkler, and special hazard systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies
Responsibilities
- Install and configure fire alarm systems and components within the facility, ensuring they meet all safety and regulatory requirements
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of fire alarm systems, sprinklers, and special hazards equipment to ensure systems are operational and compliant
- Diagnose issues and repair faulty fire alarm systems, sprinklers, or special hazard systems. Replace or repair components such as detectors, control panels, wiring, and other system parts
- Provide recommendations and assist in upgrading fire alarm, sprinkler, and special hazards systems to meet evolving safety needs
- Accurately complete service reports, inspection forms, and maintenance logs, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Ensure all fire protection systems, including alarms, sprinklers, and special hazards, meet local, state, and national fire safety codes
- Offer high-quality service to internal stakeholders and facility management teams, providing explanations of system performance and addressing concerns
