Requirements
- 10+ years guiding large-scale strategic sourcing and purchasing decisions to support business goals, preferably with focused experience in charter, air, hotel and tour operator spaces
- 5+ years in procurement or supply chain management with at least 3 years in a leadership role (managing direct reports)
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiations that drive profitable decision-making across the organization
- Demonstrated ability to influence strategic decisions and lead change management initiatives through excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach – across internal teams and with external vendors
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex projects
- B.A. / B.S. in Finance or Business, or equivalent industry experience
- Must be able to work onsite in our NYC offices 2-3 days p/week
Responsibilities
- Provide overall direction and leadership for the Company’s expedition travel sourcing, procurement, focusing on cost reduction, risk mitigation and process improvements within the charter, airline, and hotel arenas
- Influence and guide large-scale strategic sourcing and purchasing decisions to support business goals
- Identify and pursue business opportunities and initiatives to enhance profitability and achieve Company objectives
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with travel industry and other vendors to ensure service quality and cost efficiency
- Negotiate and manage contracts including, but not limited to, hotel, air, charter, and tour operator contracts, to maximize value and minimize risks
- Establish KPIs and metrics to measure and report procurement
- Prepare and recommend operational and personnel budgets, monitor expenditures and recommend adjustments as needed
- Standardize procurement practices, and streamline processes and operational standards
- Develop, implement, and enforce policies in category management, supplier relationship management and purchasing
- Build alignment with various departments on sourcing strategies and procurement processes to meet organizational needs
- Facilitate change management initiatives across departments to ensure seamless adoption of sourcing and procurement improvements
