Requirements
- Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role
- Prior employment must include three (3) years of experience (with Master’s) or five (5) years of experience (with Bachelor’s) with: programming with Excel, Python, Matlab, R, or E-Views; open Economy Macroeconomics; frontier Macroeconomic or Financial Econometric Programming and Modeling; a variety of fixed-income financial instruments, including bond pricing and yield curve analysis, options, interest rate swaps, and currency and interest rate derivatives; and writing on financial and economic issues including inflation, exchange rates, macroeconomics, or other economic developments.
- Fluency in Spanish required to liaise with key clients, investors, and policymakers in Latin American countries.
Responsibilities
- Remain informed about political events that may affect the economic outlook and asset prices in the economies under coverage.
- Engage with officials and investors across Latin America and publish timely and innovative research on macroeconomic and political trends impacting economies in Latin America and emerging markets.
- Present our market views to a wide range of senior external and internal clients.
- Data gathering, analyses, and presentations.
- Build and maintain quantitative models to forecast economic growth, inflation, and interest rates.
- Support internal stakeholders in institutional client services and across the firm.
- Collaborate with the broader Macro team as well as our regional economists.
