Requirements
- Bachelors, but preferably Master’s Degree, in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or another relevant field
- 3+ years of industrial experience, working with various forms of packaging development
- Excellent communication skills
- In depth knowledge of packaging materials, components and functionalities, the packaging filling process, and packaging associated test methods/standards
- Problem-solving skills. Ability to identify smart solutions with the right level of pragmatism
- Able to travel 20%-30%
Responsibilities
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement packaging solutions that align with Essity’s category strategies and sustainability goals
- Develop packaging materials and packaging concepts, considering product protection, costs, sustainability aspects, as well as customer agreements and current legislation
- Plan, coordinate, and assess production trials to validate new packaging materials and specifications
- Conduct research and analysis of packaging materials to identify opportunities for harmonization and complexity reduction of the company’s packaging material specifications
- Maintain a high level of awareness regarding scientific materials, packaging designs, technology, and sustainability trends in the industry
- Collaborate with suppliers to source sustainable packaging materials
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience from manufacturing environment and packaging machinery relative to line trials in the packaging process and performance issues is an advantage
- Project management experience is an advantage
