Requirements

  • A strong interest and curiosity about global public policy
  • Demonstrated high level of integrity, thoroughness, flexibility, initiative and teamwork
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent judgment and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong analytical skills which can be used to provide succinct summaries and key takeaways
  • Ability to efficiently balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines and balance challenging priorities
  • Basic understanding of key global policy issues, which could range from internet policy, human rights, consumer protection, child safety, and the environment
  • Basic familiarity with multilateral forums including the UN and the OECD
  • Basic understanding of legal, public affairs and government relations considerations in the policy process

Responsibilities

  • Develop internal and external policy positions, strategies, and analyses to influence the external environment and advance Disney’s business priorities
  • Work with business units and other internal partners on business strategies that impact public policy or require changes in public policy to be successful
  • Support projects on business strategies and product plans which advance policy goals as well as emerging social, political, economic and public policy issues and trends that build business opportunities for Disney globally
  • Find opportunities where Disney can meaningfully advance its policy agenda and recommend concrete strategies to address issues based on positions taken
  • Work with the public affairs team, internal counsel and business leaders to identify relationships that need to be cultivated to implement these strategies successfully

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some familiarity with the workings of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s), domestic and foreign governments, international organizations or industry groups
