Requirements
- 12+ years of experience as a Global Supply Manager (GSM), preferably in automotive, consumer electronics, or related industries.
- Strong background in sourcing and supply chain management for mechanical components, manufacturing engineering, and industrial design collaboration.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing practices involving CNC machined parts, sheet metal, enclosures, injection molding, vacuum forming, and other mechanical fabrication techniques.
- Proven experience sourcing custom mechanical systems used in automotive or RV applications.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to toggle between strategic thinking and detailed execution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Experience working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing conditions.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 25%.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; MBA a plus.
Responsibilities
- Ensure on-time delivery, quality standards, and cost efficiency of supplied materials.
- Manage supplier contracts, negotiating terms to optimize value and mitigate risks.
- Develop and execute supply risk mitigation plans to ensure continuity of supply.
- Implement and drive a comprehensive cost reduction strategy across the supply chain.
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and industrial design teams to source, develop, and scale NPI mechanical components.
- Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers for key mechanical components such as CNC machined parts, sheet metal, enclosures, casings, jigs, tooling, fixtures, injection-molded plastics, and other precision-engineered parts.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and supply chain operations readiness.
- Drive supplier selection, qualification, and performance management to align with company objectives and ensure a robust supply chain.
- Proactively identify and escalate key supply and cost risks to management for strategic decision-making.
