- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of Trade Compliance Master Data experience, OR advanced degree with 0 years of experience
Responsibilities
- Determine product’s preferential and non-preferential COO by applying product specific rules of origin according to local, international, and World Trade Organization (WTO) rules and regulations.
- Engage with various functional stakeholders at various levels within the organization in order to obtain the required information
- Analyze Bills of Material, manufacturing documentation, HTS classification, cost information, supplier certifications and other relevant documents to determine preferential and non-preferential country of origin eligibility within the rules, regulations and established procedures.
- Solicit, review and approve Free Trade Agreement Certificates and/or Certificates of origin from suppliers.
- Upon qualification, generate compliant country of origin certificates prior to the existing certificate expiration date
- Adhere to processes and procedures required to manage preferential and non-preferential COO determination and certification.
- Perform tactical and strategic functions through various technology platforms, including SAP, SAP GTS, Smartsheet, Microsoft Excel and other systems.
- Maintain records and documentation necessary to support Medtronic’s preferential and non-preferential COO determinations and claims according to the rules governing international trade and internally developed policy and procedures.
- Reviews records to ensure quality standards and reporting are met.
- Utilize data and reports from various systems and tools to share metrics with key stakeholders to help drive strategic decision making.
- Represent Global Trade Operations with building system requirements and testing functionality in technology deployments.
- Maintain records and documentation necessary to support Medtronic’s preferential and non-preferential COO determinations and claims according to the rules governing international trade and internally developed policy and procedures.
- Other projects as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Country of Origin Determination
- Understanding of Free Trade Agreements
- Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule Classification
- General knowledge of Global Trade, Customs Regulations, and supply chain
- Licensed Customs Broker
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to influence others through demonstrated expertise.
- Excellent communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, presentation) with ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work well with a team and independently with minimal direction
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong analytic and data mining skills; creating metrics and dashboards
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Ability to read, write and comprehend complex regulations and procedures
- Knowledge of Medtronic products and corporate structure
- SAP, SAP GTS , Smartsheet, and Microsoft Excel Experience
- Experience working for a manufacturing organization
