What you’ll be doing
Join our Global Transaction Banking team as a Summer Analyst in this 4 month role and become part of a team focused on delivering innovative banking and investment solutions to CIBC’s retail, wealth and business clients including corporates, governments and institutional clients around the world. Our goal remains to be the leading Capital Markets franchise in Canada and to work as one team to build our brand across North America and the world – proudly living our values as we work toward our vision to be the leader in client relationships.
The Global Transaction Banking group is positioned within Capital Markets Corporate and Investment Banking, supporting financial institution and corporate clients across correspondent banking, cash management and liquidity advisory, trade and working capital finance, and portfolio risk management.
As a student in our Global Transaction Banking group, you will be working with one of our teams in Toronto to make a real difference for our clients.
Correspondent Banking: Responsible for the critical banking infrastructure that permits international payment and settlement flows across borders and currencies.
Global Banks Coverage: Manage CIBC’s bank relationships globally in cross-selling Capital Markets solutions and sourcing liquidity.
Trade Finance: Provide clients with innovative solutions around credit risk mitigation and liquidity access.
Portfolio Risk Management: Responsible for first line AML Program for Correspondent Banking.
Cash Management: Support clients on operational banking needs and provide solutions for investment of excess liquidity.

You are enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Mathematics, Engineering, or related and you are on track to complete your undergrad program no sooner than April 2027. Please indicate your expected graduation date on your resume.

How you’ll succeed
Communication and Relationship Management – Support the team with maintaining and strengthening relationships with financial institutions and corporate clients, providing expertise across payment products and broader banking solutions.
Process Improvement – Lead initiatives to enhance payment operations, optimize transaction processing, and improve efficiency across various banking systems and platforms.
Growth and Development – Identify opportunities to expand CIBC’s banking solutions to meet the evolving needs of clients across Capital Markets.
