Requirements
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to read, write and perform basic math functions
- Requires standing, walking and bending throughout the entire work day
- Regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach
- Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand and foot coordination
- Hear and respond to customer inquiries
- 2-5 years of retail experience
Responsibilities
- Directing and supervising the department manager with all aspects of daily operations and activities of the department
- Ensuring the quality, freshness and product assortment is maintained throughout the grocery department(s)
- Ensuring that receiving, stocking and rotating product, facing product, taking special orders, training new associates and providing exceptional customer service is done in a timely and professional manner
- Working with the Asst. Grocery Manager with the successful operation of the department
- Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the department
- Receiving, storing and stocking a wide variety of products
- Ordering product to meet the needs of the grocery departments based on past and projected sales
- Pulling out of date product from the shelves
- Ensuring company standards for safety, sanitation and productivity are maintained
- Teaching, mentoring and educating associates to help them be successful members of the team
- Consistent and daily interaction with store associates, customers, and vendors
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned by Department Manager and/or Store Manager
