Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or BIM/VDC.
- 5+ years of CAD Technical and Project-Related experience in a life science and/or regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of project management and an advanced knowledge of drawing symbols used in engineering design and the construction industry.
- A strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Vault, Revit, BIM360, ACC and other Autodesk products.
- Experience with GxP and strong document management skills, including an understanding of change control and drawing and documentation life cycle.
- Excellent MS Office skills including: Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, and Word.
- Experienced in managing multiple BIM/VDC implementations and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate ideas in a concise and summarized manner both written and verbally.
- Interacts with a variety of customers including PM’s, Facilities, Engineering, and other client leadership.
- Ability to self-govern, make informed decisions, facilitate conflict resolution both internally and externally to develop relationships and build trust.
- Understanding of and experience in implementing quality assurance and continuous improvement programs.
Responsibilities
- Development of a new BIM management program.
- Lead and manage Facility & Engineering’s documentation including Building Information Modeling and Virtual Design and Construction (BIM/VDC) Coordination for the client site(s).
- Effectively utilize computer design and drafting software (AutoCAD), and 3D Modeling/BIM software (Revit) to manage client files and documentation in Autodesk Vault and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- Provide historical and record Facility & Engineering (F&E) documentation as requested.
- Act as point person/contact for Facility & Engineering models and documentation.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on client engineering BIM/VDC Design Standard and have general knowledge of other client design standards.
- Act as SME for Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Vault, Revit, and other Autodesk software.
- Ensure files in client software systems are compliant with established standards.
- Facilitate document coordination with knowledge of multiple disciplines.
- Assist in project specific file transfer services setup, including permissions, adherence to standards, versioning, model naming, and other necessary and appropriate mechanisms for successful teamwork.
- Review project’s BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and LOD with A/E & CM firm’s BIM Lead and project teams.
- Assist project managers at project kickoff with ensuring client’s BIM/VDC standards are identified and included by outside A&E Design Firms.
- Work with client project managers on understanding modeling priorities and project/modeling workflow.
- Assure that the design deliverables specified in the contract are aligned with the BEP.
- Interface with construction teams and construction BIM/VDC Managers for model review and asset data collection to support seamless integration of the discipline models and data.
- Review model and perform periodic health checks for alignment with client standards.
- Support the entire client team with use of models (Revit, Navisworks, etc.).
- Attend / host walk-through and model meetings with the client team (internal and external) as needed.
- Facilitate documentation life cycle change management reviews in accordance with client standards.
- Manage documentation life cycle using Autodesk Vault for change control.
- Maintain accurate and up to date engineering documents to support regulatory compliance.
- Act as process steward for document approval process.
- Capture required adds or changes to client master documents from project related activities.
- Support internal and external audits by providing facilities information as requested.
- Support F&E by following up on project information to ensure it is located correctly and accessible.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with all GxP documentation standards and requirements.
- Maintain client owned large format plotters/scanners.
- Update models as needed in partnership with contractors.
