Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite products
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Responsibilities
- Identify residents before administering treatments, serving meals, etc.
- Report all changes in the resident’s condition to the Nurse as soon as practical
- Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative, descriptive manner
- Report all accidents and incidents observed during the shift
- Agree not to disclose resident’s protected health information and report suspected or known violations
- Perform only those care procedures that you have been trained to do
- Ensure that the resident’s room is ready for receiving the resident
- Greet residents and escort them to their room
- Assist residents with packing their personal possessions when being transferred or discharged
- Transport residents to new rooms or to the receiving area
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis
- Meet with nursing personnel to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas
- Report all complaints and grievances made by the resident
- Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids
- Assist residents with daily functions (dental and mouth care, bath functions, etc.)
- Check and report bowel movements and character of stool as instructed
- Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed
- Maintain intake and output records as instructed
