Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite products
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Responsibilities

  • Identify residents before administering treatments, serving meals, etc.
  • Report all changes in the resident’s condition to the Nurse as soon as practical
  • Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative, descriptive manner
  • Report all accidents and incidents observed during the shift
  • Agree not to disclose resident’s protected health information and report suspected or known violations
  • Perform only those care procedures that you have been trained to do
  • Ensure that the resident’s room is ready for receiving the resident
  • Greet residents and escort them to their room
  • Assist residents with packing their personal possessions when being transferred or discharged
  • Transport residents to new rooms or to the receiving area
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis
  • Meet with nursing personnel to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas
  • Report all complaints and grievances made by the resident
  • Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids
  • Assist residents with daily functions (dental and mouth care, bath functions, etc.)
  • Check and report bowel movements and character of stool as instructed
  • Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed
  • Maintain intake and output records as instructed
