Requirements

  • At least 1 year of baking and/or pastry experience or relevant experience, preferably in a high-production kitchen or similar environment.
  • Strong to advanced knowledge of baking and/or pastry techniques and baker equipment and supplies.
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the prep list for the shifts.
  • Serve as a resource for bakers and helpers, assisting with training and development.
  • Operate independently as a Baker and assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of leadership.
  • Prepare and expedite all banquet event desserts, special request desserts, cake orders and other amenities.
  • Work every station as needed to support the team while upholding baking standards and techniques.
  • Take daily inventory and coordinate with the chef on bakery food preparation.
  • Ensure all products are properly made, packaged, and labeled.
  • Maintain clean and organized walk-ins, freezers, kitchens, and storage areas.
  • Collaborate with the Pastry Chef on new desserts/creations and independently develop innovative recipes.
  • Work special events and action stations to showcase bakery talents.
  • Assist in overseeing bakers and ensuring quality control to attend to operational and company needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior lead or head baker experience is a bonus.
