Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in major event accommodations planning and delivery.
  • Experience in Olympic and Paralympic Games, or equivalent large-scale sporting or similar global events
  • Experience working with hospitality industry to negotiate and execute and manage large scale accommodations requirements and protocols
  • Fluent working with Office suite products including Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate department staff
  • Directly supervise multiple sub-functions including stakeholder relations, university housing and accommodations operations
  • Develop, optimize, and adhere to departmental budget with clear steps to implement, monitor, and appropriately measure plan deliverables
  • Develop and execute a clear growth plan for the department from present through Games time
  • Develop relationships with hotel and university partners
  • Promote equitable housing allocation practices that consider accessibility needs, cultural preferences, and diverse stakeholder requirements
  • Oversee all communications with stakeholders including visits, hotels tours and development of all stakeholder guides
  • Negotiate and manage the accommodation allocation agreements for stakeholders
  • Oversee the management for over 250(+) hotel relationships as well as tourism bureaus
  • Collaborate with internal functional areas as well as IOC/IPC on ACM contractual obligations
  • Communicate accommodations process, policy and procedure information to all Games stakeholders
  • Manage accommodations relationships and requirements for 900+ stakeholder groups including those from broadcast, press, marketing partner, hospitality, international federation, National Olympic and Paralympic, and other official partners
  • Direct the development, maintenance and management of a complex hotel room allocation matrix and oversee all required issue resolutions
  • Work with universities and hotels to develop and streamline operational plans for athlete integration into village/satellite village as well as media and workforce housing requirements
  • Develop and execute an operational plan for universities to operate in hotel-like fashion during the execution of the Games, including building a Media Village operation with USC
  • Develop and execute a goods and services agreement for roughly 10 universities as well as additional potential requirements associated with satellite villages and workforce housing
  • Procure and manage vendors to support housing operations
  • Build a rate model for required stakeholders and internal workforce housing
  • Oversee the management and operate all workforce housing and media village throughout conduct of the Games in conjunction with workforce policy
  • Support any additional hotel sourcing, negotiation and contracting requirements as needed, including all remote city operations for satellite villages and the Torch Relay
  • Execute Accommodation Allocation Agreements (AAAs) with all stakeholder partners
  • Oversee the development, deployment and management of the Accommodations Management System (AMS) as well as other Accommodation based technical tools
  • Direct the management of 51K(+) rooms
  • Manage the development of an accommodation plan for all remote cities
  • Establish and manage a help desk required to support accommodation operations
  • Oversee the management and training of volunteers supporting ACM during Games time
  • Ensure all financial reconciliation requirements associated with ACM
  • Ensure integration with internal functional area operations such as Transportation, Logistics, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or relevant work experience required
  • Experience delivering arrival and departure programs for Olympic and/or Paralympic Games preferred
