Health & Safety Specialist

Requirements

• Manage, develop, implement, and enforce Aqua’s safety program
• Interpret technical and regulatory information to provide guidance to operations staff
• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to explain Aqua policies and procedures and safety/risk management concepts and practices
• Prepare and manage operational and capital safety budgets
• Establish and maintain safety training programs and records of completion
• Manage safety equipment needs for required inspection or replacement frequencies
• Implement and manage Right to Know requirements for Hazardous materials
• Investigate and evaluate new safety equipment for appropriateness
• Administer procurement and distribution of safety PPE and tools
• Manage safety vendors and or consultants

Responsibilities

• Interface with field staff and management to determine safety support needs, and deliver on the same
• Work with local and corporate stakeholders to develop, implement, and update effective Standard operating procedures and policies
• Investigate injuries and incidents and interface using Aqua practices and procedures
• Be an active member on the PA safety committee
• Conduct safety audits and field inspections and document findings and assign follow-up actions
• Initiate changes to safety program for continuous improvement
• Respond and support safety for emergency situations
• Participate in the review of engineering designs and construction projects with a focus on general workplace safety, ergonomics, hazard identification (labeling), parking/maneuverability
• Perform other duties as assigned
