Requirements
- HW engineer with proven expertise in design and bring-up of optical assemblies and platforms comprising of electro-optical and mechanical components.
- Extensive experience with hands-on optical system design is required.
- BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
- Ideating sensor concepts and building proof-of-concept implementations to demonstrate feasibility.
- Evaluating the optical design of the sensor via simulations and empirically validating performance via user studies.
- Inferring trends and dependencies in the data to improve the understanding of tissue-sensor interactions and directly impact the design and performance of the health sensors.
- Delivering detailed assessments and design evaluations to leadership and cross-functional partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience planning, executing and analyzing data from user studies.
- Experience developing test platforms and HW-controls software using Python, LabView etc.
- Proficient in programming languages, MATLAB, Python, C etc.
- Experience in use of ray-tracing and/or optical design softwares e.g. LightTools, OptisWorks, FRED, Zemax etc is a plus.
- Knowledge of tissue-optics is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent documentation skills.
- Work experience in biomedical instrumentation for clinical research is a plus.
- MS/PhD degree in Optical, Biomedical, Electrical engineering (or related discipline).
