Requirements

  • Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with willingness to sit for a poly upon request
  • Minimum 8 years of experience within the IC or DoD
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • High School Diploma or GED: Required as a basic educational foundation.
  • Must have a Journeyman/Master Electrician License
  • 8+ years’ experience working in industrial or commercial settings, with a focus on maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Basic experience in high voltage electric power-generating and distribution equipment such as generators, transformers, switches, circuit breakers, recording instruments, and control systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with commonly used high voltage electric power-generating and distribution equipment such as generators, transformers, switches, circuit breakers, recording instruments, and control systems.
  • Experience and skill in high voltage generating, controlling and distribution systems (e.g., switch gear, transformers, locating defects & selecting materials);
  • Safety Certification: Training and certification in electrical safety, OSHA standards, and other relevant safety protocols.
  • Ability to maximize technical, performance, and operational efficiencies and minimize lifecycle costs.
  • Ability to maximize services and capabilities, provisioned as a service.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work as a High Voltage Electrician
  • Troubleshoot Electrical Systems: Locate the source of trouble and determine method of repair for electrical power failure caused by faulty high voltage switchgear or transformer banks; Determine excessive current flow or other signs of improper electrical systems. Service lines, substations, transformers, insulators, converters, regulator, cables, insulators, lightning arresters, switches, circuit breakers, fuse, ground connects, mechanical and electronic control systems and other circuit elements
  • Use Test and Calibration Equipment: Operate various test and calibration equipment to assess and ensure proper function of instrument system electrical components.
  • Interpret Technical Documentation: Accurately read and comprehend systems circuit diagrams, specifications, and engineering drawings to effectively perform maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Maintain System Components: Service and maintain electrical components according to scheduled maintenance plans and operational requirements.
  • Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all workplace safety standards and protocols, especially when handling electrical equipment to prevent incidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Document Work Activities: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed, including details of diagnostics, repairs, and replacements, to ensure traceability and compliance with standards.
  • Enhance Skills and Knowledge: Continually update skills and knowledge about electrical control systems and maintenance techniques through ongoing education and training.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work collaboratively with other maintenance team members and supervisors to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
  • Other duties as required
