Requirements
- 1 yrs or more of demonstrated knowledge of HR and payroll concepts specific to skilled nursing (or similar industry) required
- Must be able and willing to work a flexible work week schedule with heavy hours in the beginning of the week to accommodate payroll deadlines.
- Extremely detail oriented individual with effective communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong self-structure with demonstrated ability to produce under minimal supervision
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Responsibilities
- Ensure company compliance with CA state employment laws, rules, regulations and best practices as it relates to employee compensation
- Manage the weekly payroll processing and reconciliation for Wish Farms California, including reconciliation and troubleshooting of entries, data entry of hourly timecards, and review of wages for accuracy
- Provide training and assistance to all team members on Payroll Tracking System, timecards, sick time, vacation requests
- Assist with new hire orientations, employee registrations, new hire paperwork, maintain employee personnel files and employee badges
- Process payroll related paperwork (EDD, FTB, IRS, CA SDU, unemployment, state disability claims, state benefit audits, verifications of employment, etc)
- Prepare weekly labor reports and provide an analysis of the labor costs and production for the management team
- Perform internal payroll & timekeeping audits and assist with audits or investigations involving DOL, DLSE, CALOSHA, Worker’s comp, 401k, and other internal, state or federal audits
- Assist with social compliance and accountability audits and certifications
- Manage offboarding process of employees at end of season and upon separation, with proper and timely preparation of final paychecks
- Develop written processes and best practices manual for all responsibilities within the payroll/hr department and commit to continuous improvements of processes
- Participate in weekly meetings/calls to check in with payroll staff and build rapport, discuss piece rates, ranch happenings, expectations, general field work understanding of what is happening on the farms in CA
- Be present and prompt on responding to day to day issues as they present themselves from the CA team
- Other tasks as associated with position and as requested by management
