Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- 10 years of experience in engineering or aerospace with a bachelor’s degree, or 7 years with an advanced degree
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Responsibilities
- Utilize state of the art analytical methods to validate the structural integrity of Hot Section static (cases and frames) and rotating hardware (disks and blades)
- Lead analytical stress & lifing analyses, as well as working across the team to coach and develop engineering talent
- Have strong integration skills and the ability to understand module functionality
- Review and guide the analytical work of others; and communicate technical progress and status to program groups, senior management, and internal / external customers
- Support the discipline managers and contribute to CIPT resources and manpower plans
- Support strategic development and Structures discipline health advancement
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency with ANSYS APDL and / or Workbench
- Advanced knowledge of LCF, TMF, HCF & FM failure modes
- Familiarity with P&W Structures tools and procedures
- Demonstrated leadership in engineering continuous improvement
- Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lead in cross-disciplinary teams
- Diverse Structures experience including analytical methods (FEA), hand calculations, and spreadsheet methods
- Experience analyzing strength, stress, deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance
