Requirements

  • 2-3 years Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) experience
  • 2-3 years of California (CA) specific HR experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with dealerships
  • Experience in responding to complex inquiries or complaints from customers, employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to write effectively and work proficiently within MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Some travel throughout the CA market for periodic visits to locations
  • Possess a high degree of emotional intelligence and the ability to create meaningful relationships and successfully navigate diverse stakeholder groups
  • Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance

Responsibilities

  • Process pre-employment background checks and drug tests for applicants in a timely manner and keep hiring managers up-to-date on the status
  • Conduct employee orientation and onboarding for new hires
  • Enter new hires into HRIS system (Workday) and maintain electronic personnel files in DocuWare
  • Answer general employee inquiries, including login issues, personal information changes, and assisting with pay questions
  • Serve as liaison between employees and corporate Risk department regarding workers compensation accidents
  • Leave of Absence (LOA) administration: confirm last day worked with manager, place employees on and off leave per acknowledgement and determinations from New York Life Group 1 Auto’s 3rd party admin for all LOAs
  • Ensure compliance with labor law and other required company postings at locations
  • Maintain confidentiality of company and employee information at all times
  • Collaborate with Corporate HR staff on matters related to benefits, employee communications, internal and external compliance
  • Employee may be required to perform other duties as assigned
