Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
  • Graduation from a recognized/accredited electrician trade school, community college, or equivalent programs with at least 576 classroom hours
  • Completion of a formal electrician apprentice program approved by the United States Department of Labor or equivalent
  • Verified Military training equivalent to a recognized/accredited trade school program or journeyman apprenticeship program
  • Three years of recent full-time experience in the last seven years as an electrician with heavy industrial applications
  • Read blueprints, drawings, schematics, line diagrams, etc.
  • Analyze electrical maintenance problems, troubleshoot, and take appropriate corrective measures

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, disconnect, and test electrical equipment, motors, generators, control equipment and electronic components
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install conduit to various outlets, equipment and panels
  • Install, maintain, test, and repair lights, lighting controls, alarms, public address, power distribution systems and data processing systems
  • Perform any kind of necessary electrical construction work
  • Troubleshoot, locate and remedy trouble on any circuit by conducting electrical testing procedures
  • Complete load surveys and necessary tests
  • Maintain and service all electrical equipment
  • Work on energized equipment using OSHA approved safety equipment and guidelines
  • Complete all work with guidelines of Company and NEC
  • Develop and perform on job modifications of electrical equipment
  • Estimate and layout jobs and list bill of materials for job, order
  • Attend and actively participate in HAZOPS, waste walkthroughs, Kaizen events, or any other operations, lean six-sigma, quality, safety or environmental training/initiatives
  • Prepare and assist technicians, supervisors and planners in preparing labor and material estimates
  • Assist supervision with the assigning, scheduling and prioritization of work order requests using maintenance management systems
  • Make recommendations and prepare orders for spare parts, additional stock room items, tools, etc.
  • Consult with Supervision and other mechanics on problem resolution/troubleshooting
  • Write, execute, and complete safety permits
  • Annual field verification for EL qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Course(s) in electronics
  • Extensive experience with automatic and automated packaging equipment in the drug or food processing industries
