Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, policy management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in policy management, governance, or compliance within higher education or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of institutional policy frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in policy management systems (e.g., DocTract, ServiceNow).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full policy lifecycle, including drafting, submission, review, updates, approvals, and retirement.
- Facilitate the development of new policies and the review of existing policies to ensure alignment with institutional goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead continuous policy reviews as outlined in the Policy on Policies, notifying departments of required updates and maintaining an accurate schedule to ensure policies are current.
- Work closely with policy owners and relevant stakeholders to review, update, and approve policies in a timely manner.
- Ensure all policies comply with institutional requirements.
- Coordinate with relevant departments when additional reviews are required.
- Collaborate with colleagues to train and support departmental users on policy tools, workflows, and best practices for policy management.
- Maintain secure storage for private policies and ensure public policies are accessible and accurately represented in the UPD.
- Manage user access and ensure policies are available to authorized personnel.
- Maintain up-to-date policy tracking data regarding review cycles, expirations, retirements, and related actions, ensuring compliance with the Policy on Policies.
- Track and report on key performance indicators, such as review timelines, approval rates, and training outcomes.
- Provide regular reports on policy statuses, review cycles, and compliance to senior leadership.
