Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, policy management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in policy management, governance, or compliance within higher education or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of institutional policy frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in policy management systems (e.g., DocTract, ServiceNow).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full policy lifecycle, including drafting, submission, review, updates, approvals, and retirement.
  • Facilitate the development of new policies and the review of existing policies to ensure alignment with institutional goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead continuous policy reviews as outlined in the Policy on Policies, notifying departments of required updates and maintaining an accurate schedule to ensure policies are current.
  • Work closely with policy owners and relevant stakeholders to review, update, and approve policies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all policies comply with institutional requirements.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments when additional reviews are required.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to train and support departmental users on policy tools, workflows, and best practices for policy management.
  • Maintain secure storage for private policies and ensure public policies are accessible and accurately represented in the UPD.
  • Manage user access and ensure policies are available to authorized personnel.
  • Maintain up-to-date policy tracking data regarding review cycles, expirations, retirements, and related actions, ensuring compliance with the Policy on Policies.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators, such as review timelines, approval rates, and training outcomes.
  • Provide regular reports on policy statuses, review cycles, and compliance to senior leadership.
