Requirements
- 3 years of Navy/USCG/MSC technical manual development experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Related degrees advantageous
- Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office products.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for development, and submission preparation of all assigned equipment and system/special manuals
- Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications and related technical publications
- Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations and trade journals
- Preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts
- Interfaces with subject matter experts and other engineering personnel during the development of these products
- Responsible for interfacing with OEMs/Suppliers to obtain Vendor Furnished Information as needed
- Responsible for interfacing sub-contractor personnel on all technical manual related issues
- Responsible for ensuring all change order activity that impacts assigned technical manuals is processed, documented and communicated to rest of ILS Team
- Successful applicant must be willing to cross-train to other areas within ILS as necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of XML/SGML tagging procedures preferred
- Prior U.S. Navy, MSC or USCG experience desired, but not required
