Requirements
- Radiology Certificate required
- Radiology Student Permit OR Indiana Radiology License required
- ARRT-R required within 1 year of hire
Responsibilities
- Gather information on patients’ illnesses and medical history to guide the choice of diagnostic procedures for therapy
- Explain procedures and safety precautions to patients and answer patient questions
- Ensure patients are not exposed to excessive amounts of radiation
- Position the patient and equipment correctly to produce results with the best quality
- Operate machine properly in order to produce clear imaging results of a patient’s body
- Observe the equipment to make sure that it is working properly
- Adjust dials to make sure the machine is set at the proper voltage and radiation levels
- Take X-rays of patient’s tissue, organs and bones to evaluate for possible injury or illness
- Write detailed reports about the patient’s behavior or any machine malfunctions
- Clean, maintain, and restock inventory in examination rooms
- Collaborate on patient medical issues with the physician to determine protocol and procedure
- Assist with ACR, HFAP, ISBOH, IDPH, and IEMA
Preferred Qualifications
