Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education, curriculum design, instructional design, or closely related field with at least two years of experience.
- Proficient in optimizing designs within the available features of the learning management system (LMS) and available digital technologies such as Articulate Rise/360.
- Experience developing curriculum, preferably for non-academic audiences.
- Ability to balance multiple disparate projects at once.
- Ability to communicate complex information to non-academic professional audiences, whether in a written, interactive, or visual format.
- Ability to understand learning objectives and create programs and supporting materials to achieve stated objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide expertise in the planning, development, and delivery of high-quality learning experiences.
- Build and maintain course content in the learning management system when applicable, including multimedia content.
- Write effective copy, instructional text, and audio and video scripts.
- Partner with subject matter experts and other key stakeholders to identify learning needs, target audience, measurable objectives, and desired outcomes.
- Responsible for planning and managing course development and design projects to ensure all tasks are completed within established deadlines and budgets.
- Utilize project management principles to develop a basic project plan to manage project timelines/deliverables, quality assurance, communication, and coordination with other departments and key stakeholders.
- Keep abreast of new developments in pedagogy and technology concerning subject areas and research on how adults learn.
- Analyze and apply trends in learning technologies and instructional design.
- Review learner, staff, and faculty feedback for quality control issues and opportunities to improve learning experiences.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing instructional materials to ensure that objectives are accomplished.
- Ensure that content is being effectively presented for the audience and goals.
- Pursue mastery of relevant tools and digital technologies in the campus ecosystem through connections with colleagues and available training materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in education, curriculum design, instructional design, or closely related field.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining online courses within the Canvas LMS.
- Professional experience developing courses using a wide variety of eLearning authoring and collaboration tools.
