Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
- Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing.
- Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist.
- Basic Life Support certification.
Responsibilities
- Utilize sterile or aseptic technique to scrub in and perform vascular, interventional, and surgical procedures per protocol.
- Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Ensure patients safety and comfort during and after exams.
- Demonstrate understanding of primary purpose of drugs used in IR, indications, contraindications, contrast drug interactions and major effects.
- Record and maintain procedural data to include injection data, elapsed fluoroscopic time and procedural information.
- Monitor equipment, systems, clean equipment, and effects timely repair.
- Learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist.
- Knowledge of radiologic physics and computerized vascular equipment to safely inject and image human vascular anatomy.
- Knowledge of vascular anatomy and pathology sufficient to apply to interventional and diagnostic exams.
