Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in IT asset management, IT operations, IT helpdesk, or a related field.
  • General understanding of IT technology
  • Ability to learn on the fly and interest in learning IT Asset Management (ITAM)
  • A fast typist with an aptitude for data entry and a healthy OCD for keeping information organized.
  • Familiarity with asset management software such as ServiceNow and Jira.
  • Savvy with Google sheets and strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the IT team at X focusing on IT Asset Management (ITAM) to help maintain our asset inventory throughout the lifecycle from procurement to decommissioning, ensuring proper updates in our ITAM system.
  • Support the procurement process by reviewing asset requirements, assisting with purchase orders, and ensuring proper acquisition of assets.
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliation of IT assets to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Generate regular reports on asset status, usage, lifecycle, and disposal for management review.
  • Ensure that all IT assets are properly secured and decommissioned for data protection and disposal.
  • Liaise with various departments (IT, Finance, Procurement, Legal) to ensure seamless asset management and resolve asset-related issues.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve processes for asset and inventory management, implementing best practices for efficiency and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of IT lifecycle management and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with compliance, IT security protocols, and data protection regulations.
  • IAITAM certification, or other relevant certifications in asset management.
  • Understanding of industry standards for asset management and auditing.
  • Experience working in a mid to large, enterprise-level organization.
