Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years engineering experience
  • Minimum of four (4) years of Gas Turbine related work experience with strong understanding of gas turbines based packages including auxiliary systems and balance of plant equipment.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of focused customer service and fulfillment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Expert knowledge in electrical systems, with hands on experience in designing and reviewing electrical protection systems.
  • Deep domain expert on generator protection system with ability to perform load and short circuit analysis.
  • Solid background in power generation application with brushless excitation system using Automatic Voltage Regulators.
  • Familiar with industry recognized Electrical codes & standards (IEEE, IEC).
  • Working knowledge of electrical installation practice to comply with hazardous area classification.
  • Familiar with balance of plant equipment (Transformers, Control Modules, Switchgear, Motor Control Center).
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems and ability to review/resolve Medium Voltage, High Voltage electrical system design.
  • Prepare and process technical specification for suppliers, review supplier drawings to ensure compliance with project CTQs (Critical to Quality).
  • Provide product clarification and answers to customer’s questions, work with installation and commissioning team to resolve site issues.
  • Work with Project Managers and project leads to prepare customer meeting presentations and actively participate in customer kick off meetings.
  • Prepare & Present Technical design reviews to managers and technical leaders. Identify IP (Intellectual Property) ideas and process IDLs (Invention Disclosure Letters).
  • Work with compliance team to execute T&RS (Technical Regulations & Standards) compliance items and ensure full completion of all open items.
  • Identify and execute product cost out and SMI (Slow Moving Inventory) opportunities to meet business cost saving goals.
  • Develop design schedule for projects/programs with milestones and work task assignments with cross functional teams.
  • Technical Execution (Drawing Redlines to Standards, Parts Creation, etc.).
  • Project Meeting Attendance (Engineering Release, Customer Meeting etc.).
  • Support manufacturing and validation team to resolve project related issues.
  • Work with suppliers and review their drawings to ensure compliance to project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years electrical engineering experience in the power industry
  • Solid understanding of power generation products and drive train influence to performance and compliance of various grid codes
  • Strong understanding of gas turbines plants and/or experience designing or installing GE Gas Turbine packages
  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools, MATLAB, ETAP
