Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field or Health, Education, and Welfare(HEW) equivalency exam (pre 1988) with seven years of relevant experience
• 3 to 7 years of Laboratory experience
• 3 to 7 years of progressive management accountability

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operational performance.
• Monitors and oversees implementation of process improvements to meet or enhance quality and service targets.
• Takes accountability and resolves next level escalation on customer service issues.
• Assists in developing and implementing operations budget.
• Monitors financial, volume, and productivity data to meet targets.
• Implements cost reduction opportunities when identified.
• Develops and maintains laboratory policies and procedures.
• May have accountability for management of a non-laboratory department.
• Performance management of employee, including performance reviews.
• Hiring and onboarding of new employees.
• Train, orients and maintains competencies for employees.
• Maintains scheduling, time off approval and timecard sign-off.
• Maintain optimal staffing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in medical technology or related field
• Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) preferred
