Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in ceramic engineering or other engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years in manufacturing operations/production with at least 3 of those years focusing on process control.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leader for the ceramic department and accountable for the methods of manufacturing and compliance to SOPs.
- Ensure manufacturing processes and/or methods are capable of meeting requirements for quality, cost, and delivery.
- Support implementation of the BiQ strategy within the ceramic department.
- Track process capability and lead technical problem resolution as well as technical improvement activities when deviations occur.
- Identify consistent best practice.
- Control and lead process improvement initiatives to maintain budgeted FPY.
- Intensive participation in cost reduction effort and reduction of scrap via rigorous investigation and problem solving.
- Lead new process development introduced by new part introduction as needed.
- Daily interface with manufacturing, management, and product team.
- This position involves a ‘hands-on’ approach with daily presence at Gemba on the production floor and a daily check-in with other process engineers, maintenance, and leaders.
- Other tasks as appropriate and as assigned by management.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with new product design and processing of ceramic core production for investment castings.
- Demonstrated track record of success in leading projects/activities across a range of Manufacturing Engineering processes.
- Ability to provide technical and professional leadership to a team of Engineers.
- Demonstrated capability to handle multiple tasks or projects and to develop/lead an action plan.
- Personality and drive to execute in challenging and fulfilling manufacturing environment that operates under tight timelines and aggressive schedules.
- Effective written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to convey concepts within all levels of our organization.
- Strong academic foundation coupled with hands on experience.
- Experience with statistical and process improvement tools: 6-sigma, Minitab, SPC etc.
