Requirements
- A Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience
- A minimum of six years of experience in control engineering
- Proficiency in programming PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA control systems
- Strong background in reading electrical control schematics
- Skilled in making advanced system enhancements, troubleshooting issues, and testing existing applications for optimal performance
- Proficient in Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, Visio, AutoCAD
- Proficient in one or more PLC and HMI languages including ExoStruxure Control Expert, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, or Inductive Automation Ignition
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel 10 – 15 trips per year
- Ability to direct electrical contractors on the job site
Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a cross-functional team of engineers to develop and implement control systems across all Tyson facilities
- Drive projects to completion
- Advocate for the adoption of solutions across the enterprise
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years SCADA programming experience, preferably Inductive Automation – Ignition
- 3+ years database management experience, preferably MS SQL Server
- 6+ years of PLC / HMI programming experience – preferably Rockwell / Allen-Bradley
- 8+ years of manufacturing experience
- Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) operations, wiring, and configuration
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) operations, wiring, and programming
- Experience with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) operations, wiring, and programming
- Experience with installation and implementation of process controls networks such as Ethernet/IP
- Robotic experience with Fanuc and ABB systems
- Familiarity with ISO 13849 Safety Standard
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety Requirements in the Workplace
- Understanding of electrical control design principles
- Food processing knowledge and control experience
