Lead Controls Engineer

A Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience
A minimum of six years of experience in control engineering
Proficiency in programming PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA control systems
Strong background in reading electrical control schematics
Skilled in making advanced system enhancements, troubleshooting issues, and testing existing applications for optimal performance
Proficient in Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, Visio, AutoCAD
Proficient in one or more PLC and HMI languages including ExoStruxure Control Expert, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, or Inductive Automation Ignition
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to travel 10 – 15 trips per year
Ability to direct electrical contractors on the job site

Collaborate within a cross-functional team of engineers to develop and implement control systems across all Tyson facilities
Drive projects to completion
Advocate for the adoption of solutions across the enterprise

6+ years SCADA programming experience, preferably Inductive Automation – Ignition
3+ years database management experience, preferably MS SQL Server
6+ years of PLC / HMI programming experience – preferably Rockwell / Allen-Bradley
8+ years of manufacturing experience
Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) operations, wiring, and configuration
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) operations, wiring, and programming
Experience with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) operations, wiring, and programming
Experience with installation and implementation of process controls networks such as Ethernet/IP
Robotic experience with Fanuc and ABB systems
Familiarity with ISO 13849 Safety Standard
Familiarity with NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety Requirements in the Workplace
Understanding of electrical control design principles
Food processing knowledge and control experience
