Requirements

  • A Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of six years of experience in control engineering
  • Proficiency in programming PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA control systems
  • Strong background in reading electrical control schematics
  • Skilled in making advanced system enhancements, troubleshooting issues, and testing existing applications for optimal performance
  • Proficient in Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, Visio, AutoCAD
  • Proficient in one or more PLC and HMI languages including ExoStruxure Control Expert, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, or Inductive Automation Ignition
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel 10 – 15 trips per year
  • Ability to direct electrical contractors on the job site

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a cross-functional team of engineers to develop and implement control systems across all Tyson facilities
  • Drive projects to completion
  • Advocate for the adoption of solutions across the enterprise

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years SCADA programming experience, preferably Inductive Automation – Ignition
  • 3+ years database management experience, preferably MS SQL Server
  • 6+ years of PLC / HMI programming experience – preferably Rockwell / Allen-Bradley
  • 8+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) operations, wiring, and configuration
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) operations, wiring, and programming
  • Experience with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) operations, wiring, and programming
  • Experience with installation and implementation of process controls networks such as Ethernet/IP
  • Robotic experience with Fanuc and ABB systems
  • Familiarity with ISO 13849 Safety Standard
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety Requirements in the Workplace
  • Understanding of electrical control design principles
  • Food processing knowledge and control experience
