Requirements

  • Law degree (J.D.) required, and admission (or ability to register as in-house counsel) to practice law where located. Candidates must be in good standing in all jurisdictions in which they are currently admitted to practice law
  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in compliance activities at major law firms and/or as an in-house counsel
  • Expertise in the FCPA and other anti-bribery legal regimes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program and its related activities to help prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct
  • Respond to alleged employee misconduct received via the ethics hotline and other channels
  • Conduct investigations of alleged compliance or ethical wrongdoing including drafting and implementing investigation plans, data collection and analysis, witness interviews, report drafting, and presentation of finding to management
  • Participate in audits and assessments to identify compliance or ethics gaps in the organization
  • Assist in developing and implementing corrective action plans for resolving issues identified through assessments and investigations and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future
  • Oversee and maintain an effective compliance communication program including promoting use of the ethics hotline and understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures
  • Assisting in developing and implementing the compliance training program for all employees
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Must be a team player — within the compliance department, the Office of the General Counsel, and throughout the Supernal enterprise
  • Excellent research and written and verbal communication skills
  • Someone with ability to work independently in an effective and efficient manner
  • Ability to draft substantive reports within strict deadlines and lead presentations to management
  • A team player who enjoys interacting with people and working on group projects
  • Ability to distill and articulate legal concepts into concise language that business partners can both understand and readily act upon
