Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field
- Typically, Bachelor of Arts degree or Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Thorough knowledge of company products, company functions, and service policies and procedures
Responsibilities
- Analyze and confer expertise relating to the development and execution of tactical internal communications and Public Relations (PR) plans concerning the company
- Responsibilities include writing and overseeing publication of several or most of the following: articles, microsites, rotating ads, banner ads, news releases, employee newsletters, brochures, employee handbooks, social media content, and/or materials for employee conferences and seminars
- Involved in corporate public/community relations programs
- Analyze and confer expertise relating to information and support to senior management or executives on general business and national media press issues
- Provides counsel to senior managers or executives in the form of speech research and writing
- Company spokesperson to media representatives
- Make decisions on important public relations reactive/proactive stories, narratives, content, and storylines that will be delivered by leaders and via communications channels
- Reflect company’s priorities, values, and position on important topics, key business matters, and the tone/position of our leaders
- Use discretion in deciding the right way to communicate
- Responsible for providing communications and messaging for trade shows and other events
- Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, strategic plans, content development, media relations, video and digital asset creation, social media, news site placement and content development, and employee communications
- Maintain a high-level understanding of industry trends affecting the company and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
- Lead cross-functional teams with peers and managers at all levels across business units to assist in coordinating public relations work
- Work on complex problems of diverse scope requiring detailed analysis of unique factors
- Create and recommend changes to policies which affect subordinate organization(s)
- Interact with customers, functional peer group managers, and senior management
- Deliver value to business units through actions such as impacts on reputation, identifying internship and employee candidates, and more
- Manage special projects and serve as the subject matter expert on public-facing initiatives
- May participate in user acceptance testing, quality assurance, and deliver training for internal systems
