Requirements
- Graduate of high school or GED equivalency examination
- Must be certified and maintain a certification in sterile processing and as an instrument specialist from IAHCSMM
- At least 12 months experience in sterile processing
- Possess ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of processes
- Applicant must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer skills required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure health care environment required
- Excellent interpersonal skills required
- Detail oriented required
Responsibilities
- Responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of instruments in compliance with medical center policies and procedures, state, local and federal requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) certification preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire
- Leadership, supervisory or management experience preferred
