Requirements
- Knowledge of state and federal filing procedures and rules of civil procedure are required; 10th Circuit filing procedures and rules are a plus.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Pro, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to prepare a variety of complex pleadings and correspondence, including Table of Authorities and Indexing.
- Ability to prioritize workflow and address new priorities as they arise.
Responsibilities
- Providing legal assistance to multiple attorneys with the preparation of pleadings, briefs, exhibits, correspondence, discovery and court filings.
- Interacting with various courts, clients, court reporters, lawyers and staff and maintain positive relations with each.
- Preparing and processing correspondence and memoranda as well as complex legal documents, draft routine cover letters and documents.
- Proofreading documents and checking for proper formatting, spelling and grammar; complete revisions, prepare redline documents as directed.
- Performing clerical duties such as prepare outgoing mail; coordinate activities with runners; scan and photocopy materials; and keep up with attorneys’ deadlines and caseloads.
- Maintaining electronic and paper files as necessary.
- Managing attorney calendars and scheduling meetings, depositions and other tasks related to calendar/docket due dates.
- Providing trial support duties as necessary from exhibit preparation to operation of trial equipment during trial.
Preferred Qualifications
- Heavy litigation experience is preferred, including but not limited to trial preparation; summarizing depositions; organizing and reviewing discovery; managing each attorney’s caseload.
