Requirements
- Candidates must hold a Canadian law degree from a leading university
- 8-10 years of legal experience in the biotech/pharma sector in Canada
- A license to practice law in the US or another jurisdiction is a plus
- Experience in a top law firm is preferred
- Familiarity with local or North American regulators
- Experience working in the US is beneficial
Responsibilities
- Oversee all legal matters for the Canadian affiliate and manage the relationship with external counsel
- Provide strategic legal advice on commercialization and regulatory issues in Canada
- Manage legal investigations related to competition, regulatory, and anti-corruption laws
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and R&D agreements
- Advise on privacy, compliance, employment, and corporate governance matters
- Collaborate with the home office Law Department on cross-functional legal issues
- Contribute to the Canadian Leadership Team and provide legal advice for US as needed

- Adept at managing complex legal matters and have a keen eye for detail
- Can communicate effectively in both French and English
