Requirements
- Graduation from accredited school of nursing
- Current LPN license in the state of South Carolina
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care according to established policies and procedures under the direction of a RN
- Administers medication according to scope of practice
- Performs reassessments, collects data, takes histories, initiates IV access, provides wound care and assists in activities of daily living
- Documents in the medical record, findings and information
- Communicate appropriate medical and clinical information to the staff as required
- Demonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and unit care data
- Provides first line customer service response
- Follows the MUSC Standards of Behaviors
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Some clinical or hospital experience is preferred but not required
