Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of newsroom experience, including 2 years of line producing and relevant control room experience for a television newscast
- Solid news judgment and strong knowledge of politics and current events
- Excellent writing skills
Responsibilities
- Build and time rundowns
- Identify stories, angles, and elements each week
- Pitch and execute creative and innovative ideas for segments and guests
- Time the show in the control room, and communicate with anchors clearly and effectively
- Responsible for story placement, compelling story teases, and other production elements
- Oversee and rewrite copy
- Guide associate producers and bookers on best segment elements and editorial practices
- Work collaboratively with showrunner and show teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
