Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Linux system administration and engineering, with a deep understanding of Linux operating systems, including CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu
  • Experience configuring, deploying, and maintaining workstations in a Linux environment
  • Experience with automation tools, including Ansible for configuration management and deployment
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining system integrity along with implementing operating system updates and vulnerability patches to improve reliability and performance
  • Experience with a project ticketing system like Jira or Serena for task tracking, issue resolution, and change management
  • Ability to adapt solutions to meet evolving or new requirements
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • DoD 8570-Compliant IAT Level II or III Certification, such as Security+ Certification

Responsibilities

  • Shape Air Force Intelligence Operations capabilities by leading the creation of Linux-based solutions for global, multi-infrastructure systems supporting real-time mission operations
  • Design and develop systems while evolving them with advanced technology solutions
  • Broaden skillset into areas like automation, virtualization, cloud solutions, machine learning, and secure access service edge
  • Merge Linux troubleshooting, solutions development, testing, and implementation with new skills associated with automation, virtualization, and cloud implementation to ensure real-time Air Force customer needs are met
  • Create a framework for future technology innovations and capability improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating Linux-based solutions for customer requirements
  • Experience supporting U.S. government customers, preferably within the U.S. Intelligence Community
  • Experience with Linux scripting languages
  • Knowledge of network concepts and switch/firewall configurations
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • RedHat Linux Certification
  • Willingness to travel 25-30%
