Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of relevant experience in logistics, inventory, warehousing, and fleet scheduling
- 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred
- Working knowledge of warehousing/transportation systems and operations
Responsibilities
- Manage the logistics crew located in South Dakota, including setting work objectives, assigning work, and coordinating crew efforts
- Develop and optimize logistics processes and procedures required to import and export materials and finished goods in compliance with federal, state, local, and DOE regulations governing the transportation of materials and finished goods
- Provide daily scheduling and interface with logistics sub-contracts for storage and movement of materials
- Resolve bottlenecks and other logistics issues for Fermilab technical staff, international partners, customs officials, and shippers
- Schedules, controls, and manages shipping and receiving activities as well as overall fleet traffic
- Responsible for inventory control and liaises with technical teams to ensure availability of materials
- Review and maintain all documentation including supporting calculations of duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of products
- Verifies all payment transactions are completed according to requirements
- Respond to operational and emergency requirements. Required to work and respond to emergency call-ins
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at a Department of energy laboratory or similar environment preferred
- May be required to legally operate a government vehicle
