Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of logistics/ supply chain experience.
  • Knowledge of US DOT Regulations, Hours of Service, Weight Limitations, US Geography.
  • Knowledge of freight claim laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrates initiative, self-starter, and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and details with accuracy.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Transportation Management System (TMS) system to plan, optimize, and tender freight to contracted carrier partners within 24 hours of Purchase Order (PO) creation for assigned sites/ regions.
  • Regularly utilize TMS to review and ensure all loads and POs are placed with correct dates, lead times, and tendered to carriers in effort to drive LEI, service, and optimal ordering patterns.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Inventory Management, Operations, and 3rd party carriers to provide resolution on Inbound Logistics freight.
  • Resolve recalled/rejected tenders within 2 business hours from notification of recall/rejection.
  • Help identify trends to mitigate excess cost and service erosion, including detention charges, unprofitable lanes, underweight load fill, and on-going service failures.
  • Consistently review vendor delivered suppliers for possible CPU conversions to create logistics earned income and maximize supply chain efficiency.
  • Negotiate spot rates with carrier partners where necessary to cover volume over-committed capacity per department guidelines.
  • Review, approve, and resolve accessorial charges and WIP to ensure timely carrier payment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Operations Management/Supply Chain Management/ Logistics) preferred.
