Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
- 8+ years’ experience
- 2D/3D Electro Magnetic Finite Element Analysis, System Modeling (Mathcad, Matlab, Flux2D), Thermal Analysis
- Must be sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
Responsibilities
- Perform transient simulation and simulation-based design of electrical motors, generators, exciters and controls utilizing various engineering tools.
- Develop design information for use in reports, specifications and drawings.
- Direct support personnel in product design, analysis, fabrication, and testing.
- Transient simulation of electric motors including linear motors, generators, exciters, rectifiers, motor drives and controls using Matlab, Simulink, and Simscape Electrical Specialized Power Systems.
- Develop Direct and Quadrature circuit development and analysis of electric motors, generators, and exciters.
- Development of novel circuits and simulation for conducting water issues in water cooled motors and generators.
- Assess new and existing equipment to optimize design efficiency, safety, quality and cost effectiveness.
- Provides engineering design, maintenance support and training for new product and equipment.
- Capable of leading engineering teams through moderately complex technical issues.
- Actively supports development of engineering planning for development of new designs and redesign efforts.
- Performs engineering assignments in a timely manner under minimal guidance of a more senior engineer.
- Plans, coordinates, and executes, with guidance, a variety of engineering activities including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical or other presentations.
- Ability to create models and drawings, present design reviews, and perform trade studies and design reviews with minimal guidance.
- Capable of coordinating multiple project responsibilities.
