Requirements
- High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1-3 years related experience
- May require technical diploma or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings or other structures
- Strong knowledge of design techniques, tools, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Must be able to move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Perform general preventative maintenance and simple repairs on manufacturing machines and mechanical equipment
- Perform maintenance service and repairs
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary
- Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists
- Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
