Requirements
- High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years related experience
- Technical diploma or equivalent
- Expert knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Expert knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings or other structures
- Expert knowledge of design techniques, tools, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Strong ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- May require some electrical knowledge
- Must be able to move items weighing up to 50 lbs
- Able to provide training and work leadership
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing machines and mechanical equipment
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment
- Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists
- Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions
- Provide work leadership for lower level maintenance mechanics through assignment of work
- Provide technical guidance and review of assignment progress
- May involve repair of electrical systems
