Requirements
- AA degree in an electrical or mechanical field or completion of formal apprenticeship program
- Minimum of five years maintenance experience required
Responsibilities
- Repair, troubleshoot and maintain production machinery, systems and equipment throughout the facility
- Analyze equipment failures, determine cause and make necessary adjustments
- Perform preventative maintenance and calibrations on equipment according to guidelines
- Recommend modifications to PM program to improve equipment life, reduce costs, etc.
- Maintain and rebuild individual system components such as valves, pumps, motors, and conveyors using testing instruments, hand and power tools and precision-measuring instruments
- Repair and maintain physical structures such as platforms, doors, concrete floors, roof, etc. using hand and power tools
- Build physical structures and work areas
- Repair, maintain, replace, install and diagnose defects and malfunctions in HVAC, water, wastewater and drainage systems
- Repair and install pipes, joints, fixtures and fittings
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair problems with complex electro-mechanical process equipment, including PLC control cabinets and associated sensors, relays, circuit breakers, and alarms
- Repair, maintain, replace, install and test electrical systems, circuits and equipment
- Install both mechanical and electrical systems as directed by Engineering with minimal instructions after general assignment
- Read manuals on new and existing equipment and apply knowledge to creating/modifying PM tasks, establishing equipment settings, and generating other documentation
- Correctly complete paperwork associated with tasks, work orders, tagging equipment in/out of service, etc.
- Lead maintenance technician and assist and take direction from Maintenance Superintendent, engineering, etc. in completing work on equipment as required
- Assist Engineering in modifying sketches or electrical diagrams of electrical and mechanical systems
- Properly inspect and test all finished work
- Clean area and conform to all GMP requirements
- Audit equipment for possible failure or existing problems and schedule them to be repaired
- Complete other duties as assigned by Maintenance Superintendent, Plant Superintendent, V.P. of Manufacturing or other member of management
