Requirements
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, Leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of People and resources
- Knowledge of Boeing aircraft maintenance
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Knowledge of mechanical knowledge of aircraft and systems
- Knowledge of aircraft systems
- Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, however it does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
- Ability to adhere to SWA Maintenance Program policies and procedures while working under tight time constraints
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Required: Airframe and Powerplant License
- Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)
- Fully functioning, broad knowledge in: Large commercial aircraft, Management
Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures related to the responsibilities of the Maintenance Control operation
- Interact and coordinate MOC Ops Center requirements with various departments across organizational boundaries to ensure the safest, most compliant, and efficient operation in the Industry
- Approve maintenance ferry flights as outlined in the Maintenance Procedures Manual (MPM)
- Interact and coordinate Technical Operations involvement with Dispatch, Flight Operations, Inflight Operations, Ground Operations, and other operating groups within Southwest Airlines
- Perform duties necessary to assist the Senior Manager Maintenance Operations Control in administering On-Call Maintenance Providers
- Act as liaison to ensure coordination and cooperation in making tactical operational decisions that may significantly impact planned maintenance requirements
- Inform and support directives set forth by Sr Manager and Director Maintenance Operations
- Provide direct Leadership to the MX Ops Center Support Supervisor and Field Technician Supervisors
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred: Experience with MXI, aircraft maintenance, and 737s
